Overview of Ventoux

Ventoux AOC is actually known by its local name as Cotes Du Ventour AOC until 2008. In fact, this is a wine company growing in AOC, in the southeastern region of France, in Rhone wine region. There are wines that are produced in 51 communes in the department of Vaucluse. There, you can see as well the Ventoux mountains with its slopes below,  even reaching and stretching along side of the southern part, bounded by the Calavon River.

There are three pillars of the region where the wines are discovered. These are Malaucene basin, Mont Ventous (at the foothills), the Carpentras of the east and the Cavaillon of the north. In the early or late 30 AD, it is said that there are archeological discoveries of wine.

Red and rose wines which are famous for their luxurious quality are branded wines made from Grenache, Cinasault,Syrah, Mourvedre, and Carignan. Sometimes there are varieties which may contain around 20%. Red wine is characterized by its smell and fragrance, sometimes of the black fruit, spices and mint peppers. Red wines are usually fruity and its light to drink.

There are also the white wines that are produced from other side like Clairette, Grenache blanc and Roussane, etc. These wines are most sold in this place. Moreover, wines are produced in three distinct kinds but colors are exceptionally good. Its minimum alcoholic content can go as high as 11%.

Take note that all wines are always consumed most of the time during its earliest possible time to drink. But the aged it is, the better the taste is.
